The computer on the Schwinn 430 Elliptical trainer has dual screens and it allows the users to set up their profiles. The computer comes equipped with 22 program and includes 9 workout programs and 8 heart rate controls. It allows the users to adjust the 22 levels of resistance offered by the trainer.

Tracking Workout

A unique feature of the Schwinn 430 Elliptical trainer is the option to download and track the user’s workout schedule and data. The users can track a wide range of data pertaining to their workout like time, distance covered, calories burnt etc. The workout data can be easily transferred via the Schwinn Connect or via MyFitnessPal. Tracking the workout data is a very useful feature which enables the users to assess their workout effectiveness and make necessary changes to it if required.

Heart Rate Monitoring

The Schwinn 430 Elliptical trainer provides heart rate monitoring to the users from hand grips. When the user holds the sensors on the hand grip for 10 seconds, the heart rate is transferred to the computer for display. It should be noted that there is no facility to use a chest strap.


The trainer is powered by a V-belt drive system and it provides a consistent moment which provides stability and smoothness. The pedal bars come with large wheels which along with sealed ball bearings ensure a smooth operation. The trainer also uses small ball bearings on the joints of the arms.


The Schwinn 430 Elliptical trainer uses an eddy current system which means that it must be connected to a 120V circuit. The resistance level can be adjusted by display of the machine. The equipment comes with the flexibility of pre-programmed workouts and in such cases, the resistance is adjusted automatically. There will be little or no wear and tear on the resistance elements.


The biggest drawback of the trainer equipment is its incline features. It comes with 6 incline levels up to 10 degrees. Most of the other trainers offer up to 20 degrees of incline.


The Schwinn 430 Elliptical trainer is a good trainer in the entry-level segment. It comes with great features including pre-programmed workouts and the feature to download and track the workout data. In this price range, it is highly recommended.
